Temperatures are at the ultimate highs since the summer is here and what is a better way than cooling of than at the pool?

The heat and humidity shouldn’t deter you from doing anything – it should actually motivate you to cool off in a pool or beach.

The Simple Life - Swimming on a Hot Day

I love swimming in an outdoor pool or even better yet a white sand beach on a hot day.

The feeling of water against my skin just feels refreshing and cool from the heat of the sun. I feel really comfortable and relaxed in the water like a mermaid.

“Be not the slave of your own past – plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep, and swim far, so you shall come back with new self-respect, with new power, and with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

When I am underneath the water, it seems like a whole different world for the sounds are different, vision is unclear, speaking and breathing is limited.

My favourite position is laying on my back with my arms and legs extended, creating an X with my body floating in salt water.  I breathe deeply for I can hear my breath and my heart beat louder than normal.  The sounds of the water hitting my eardrums feels relaxing as the waves take me in different directions.  I close my eyes as the sun’s warmth beats on my face and I just take it all in.

Live in the present moment.

As a kid I used to live in the pool. My childhood best friend Grace and I used to go swimming everyday at our complex pool. On weekends we had swimming lessons and I basically swam so much I could of been a lifeguard.  I realized as I got older, swimming was a rare occasion but I went swimming this past weekend and it felt amazing.

Every time I go swimming I feel renewed.

So go swimming on a hot day to cool off and enjoy the rest of the hot summery days!
